The remake of a Walt Disney animation movie the Beauty and the Beast was released in the US on the 4th of November, 2009. The film was directed by David Lister who had directed another similar movie with the same name in the year 2003.
The film stars actress Estella Warren in the role of the beauty Belle and playing the role of the Beast in the movie is actor Victor Parascos. A couple of other important characters in the film are those of Count Rudolph whose role is played by actor Rhett Giles and Lady Helen whose role is played by actor Vanessa Gray.
Most of us know the story of Beauty and the Beast but this film tells the story from a different angle. The beauty in the film is no more the innocent Belle but a more vocal but scantily clad Belle and along side her, the Beast, is a scary looking monster who many critics think should really be put back in his cage.
The film overall is a series of errors. The acting is pretty bad and each actor is trying hard to outdo the other in the worse actor category, in addition to that the direction is pretty mediocre as well.
All in all the movie has received a number of bad reviews and didn’t do very well in the US. However, if you are a Beauty and the Beast fan and insist on watching this movie then go ahead and rent it from a DVD store but just don’t complaint later.
